Our self-image: sustainability at APOGEPHA
As a family-owned business, sustainability is in our DNA. We have always thought in terms of generations, taking responsibility for our employees and for a healthy future; long-term entrepreneurial success has always taken precedence over short-term profit maximisation. As a partner to doctors, pharmacists and patients in the field of urology, we have a comprehensive understanding of health, not just in the narrow medical sense: for us, the term encompasses physical, mental, social, economic and environmental health.
Take a look at this short video and find out what drives us every day:
Company
Local production, quality and supply security
Where possible, we look for manufacturing facilities in Germany or the European Union to produce our products so as to
- ensure high product quality,
- achieve a high level of delivery and supply security,
- minimise transport and delivery routes,
- conserve resources and
- ensure our independence and continuity of supply in the long term.
Procurement and supply management focus on long-term, reliable supply relationships and the "second source principle” for individual drugs. Our main product and the corresponding active ingredient propiverine (a proprietary development of APOGEPHA) are manufactured at two locations in Germany.
Compliance principles
These are our compliance principles
Our code of conduct is the foundation for responsible action:
Each individual bears responsibility and contributes positively to the reputation and protection of APOGEPHA through his or her behaviour. Within the company and with business partners and customers, we work together on the basis of mutual respect, fairness and equal opportunities. We stand by our words - our actions and words go hand in hand. Each individual is obliged to treat the property and reputation of APOGEPHA responsibly.

It is essential for us to ensure high quality and drug safety to protect patients. We also ensure the safety and health of our employees, customers, business partners and guests by providing healthy working conditions, comprehensive occupational safety and fire protection and appropriate health promotion activities.

We avoid conflicts of interest by maintaining a strict separation between professional/positional and personal interests. This applies both within the company and outside. At all times, each individual behaves loyally towards APOGEPHA, its employees and customers. Managers and employees who fulfil a responsibility under public law have a special obligation towards the safety and well-being of patients, towards the law and, therefore, towards the interests of the company.

We are committed to fair competition in compliance with applicable laws such as the Health Services and Products Advertising Act, Competition Law and Antitrust Law. Each individual is obliged to abide by these rules of competition and report any violations. In addition, we also expect our business partners to ensure that these rules of competition are adhered to on their own responsibility.

We respect international human rights in our value chain, particularly in our supply chain. We condemn all forms of forced labour, child labour and discrimination. Our work is based on an open and respectful management culture, freedom of expression, employee participation and respect for collective legal standards.

Each individual handles information and the intellectual property of APOGEPHA and others responsibly. This includes complying with confidentiality agreements with third parties, protecting business secrets, in particular inventions, industrial property rights and rights of use, and ensuring a high level of data security. Compliance with data protection regulations is a matter of course for us both internally and externally, and is ensured through appropriate measures and responsible handling of personal data. Our work is based on accurate, valid results and truthful documentation. We ensure a high level of transparency and the preservation and transfer of knowledge through accurate and transparent reporting.

Truthful information and responsible handling of information are a matter of course for us. We condemn and punish unfair or false promises and advertising statements. This also includes unfairly influencing or even bribing medical professionals, representatives of public institutions and bodies or employees of our business partners or competitors, which we do not condone in any way. The giving of gifts and gratuities as well as donations and sponsorship strictly comply with legal and company regulations.
We maintain close and fair co-operation with service providers and payers in the healthcare sector. Adherence to the AKG (Arzneimittel und Kooperation im Gesundheitswesen e. V.) code of conduct and respect for the principles of healthcare compliance are a matter of course and an obligation for us.

APOGEPHA Arzneimittel GmbH is highly committed to the protection of the environment, the responsible use of natural resources and the safety of production. Every employee uses available resources responsibly and ensures compliance with legal requirements and the company’s environmental protection regulations. We are committed to using forward-looking solutions to ensure sustainable and environmentally responsible development, preserving natural resources for future generations.
